BC’s Rockies: A Photographer’s Dreamscape

A professional photographer reveals what makes these BC mountains so inspiring.

Words and photos by Paul Zizka

“Although I live just across the border in Alberta, I often find myself skipping over to the mountains of Yoho and Kootenay National Parks, and Assiniboine and Mount Robson Provincial Parks in British Columbia. I find I am drawn back over and over again to the BC Rockies by the opportunities for adventure and the incredible potential for photography. I have been fortunate to document many mountain regions around the world, but for me the way that all the elements come together in the BC Rockies is truly unique. Wild weather, biodiversity, amazing nights skies, high drama, possibilities for exploration, accessibility... all ingredients come together to create an adventure photographer's dreamscape.”
